Horizon Homes was founded by Marc and Cathy Woods in September of 2000. Cathy had worked for the Cheyenne Police Department for more than a decade and had decided that she could better take care of a growing family if she could work at a home office while working on paperwork for a start up company. Marc had been the vice president of Heartland Home Builders for over eight years when the decision to start a new company came about. Prior to his work with Heartland, Marc framed and sided homes for a framing company. In the early stages of Horizon Homes we did only a couple of new home construction projects per year along with several remodels and out building jobs. Every year we have enjoyed strong growth with little to no advertising aside from word of mouth. Horizon Homes has continued to experience growth through the partnership with Moriah Land Company and the development of several prestige subdivisions in Laramie County such as, Wind Song and Wind Song North Estates, Heritage Hills and Fox Run.
